The friendship between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively continues to face an awkward moment. According to close sources, the singer reportedly declined the invitation to the Saturday Night Live (SNL) 50th anniversary special to avoid being seen with Blake amidst her controversial legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

For weeks, it has been reported that Swift has distanced herself from Lively amid the controversy she is involved in, and which Swift has not appreciated being caught up in, as Baldoni mentioned the megastar in his lawsuit against Lively, claiming that she and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, pressured him in a meeting about changes to the script of the movie “It Ends with Us.”

“Did Taylor Swift avoid going to the SNL anniversary to avoid seeing Blake Lively?”
A source has assured the Daily Mail that Swift and Lively are going through a difficult phase and that the singer continues to prefer to stay out of the legal scandal, despite Lively and Reynolds deciding to put on their best smiles in front of the public at the SNL event.
“Taylor is not talking to Blake. She was invited to SNL50, but with Blake there—and Kim Kardashian—it was the last place she wanted to be seen,” claims the source, although its origin has not been revealed.
According to this narrative, besides avoiding Lively, Swift would be evaluating who she surrounds herself with and distancing herself from those who “use her name for their own benefit”. Another source claims that the artist is focused on her next album and surprised by all the drama she has found herself involved in.
“Taylor is reviewing which friendships are really good for her and who mentions her for personal purposes after the ‘Blake-gate’”, they point out, according to DailyMail.
The distancing between both was already hinted at in January, when Baldoni stated in his lawsuit that Swift was present at a meeting with Reynolds and Lively, supposedly to discuss a scene from the movie. According to him, Swift made him feel that he had to accept the changes in the script proposed by Lively. He also showed evidence in which Lively compared herself to Khaleesi, the character from Game of Thrones, in messages where she implied that Reynolds and Swift were her “dragons” supporting her in her fight against Baldoni.
