The Australian actor Guy Pearce has once again spoken about his experience working with Kevin Spacey in the 1997 film “LA Confidential” and has revealed how he was subjected to inappropriate conduct by the American actor. Although he had briefly spoken about the matter in 2018, Pearce has now been much more open about it.

In a recent interview on the podcast “Awards Chatter,” Pearce confessed that, although he was not a victim of sexual abuse, he felt extremely uncomfortable during the filming and that Spacey had “put him in his sights.” Spacey has been accused of multiple cases of sexual abuse over the years, although he has denied all the allegations and has been acquitted in several trials.

Guy Pearce Talks About His Experience Working with Kevin Spacey
“I was afraid of Kevin, he is quite an aggressive man,” revealed Pearce, who at that time was a young and rising actor. “He is extremely charming and brilliant at what he does, but I definitely felt watched. There is no doubt that he had me in his sights.”
The actor also remembered feeling more at ease when his colleague Simon Baker was on set, as Spacey would redirect his attention towards him. He explained that for a long time, he overlooked the impact Spacey’s behavior had on him, but the rise of the #MeToo movement in 2017 made him reflect and better process his experience.
“I read the headlines and burst into tears. I realized how much I had repressed it,” confessed Pearce, visibly emotional. For his part, Spacey’s career in Hollywood has been practically destroyed due to these accusations and it seems he no longer has qualms.
Guy Pearce joins the list of celebrities who have suffered at the hands of Kevin Spacey
The testimony of Pearce adds to the long list of actors and entertainment professionals who have reported inappropriate behavior by Spacey. Although Pearce has made it clear that his experience was not as severe as that of other victims, he still considers it important to speak openly about the issue.
“Now I just try to be honest and call a spade a spade,” he concluded. As if that weren’t enough, Pearce’s revelation comes at a time when Spacey is facing a new civil lawsuit for sexual assault in London.
