What is known about Shakira after her admission to a hospital in Peru?

The interpreter reportedly suffered from gastroenteritis, according to several media outlets. An indisposition that would have forced her hospitalization to monitor her condition and, evidently, cancel her concert in Lima.

Shakira is now continuing her recovery outside the clinic where she had been admitted. By her side are her team and her brother Tonino. This situation slightly disrupts what had been an excellent start to her world tour, “Las mujeres ya no lloran,” which marks her return to the stage after years of absence.

The hospital discharge may also have been driven by some leaks to the press about the artist’s admission. The management of la Clínica Delgado, the medical center where Shakira was admitted, had to send an internal circular to its employees, according to the Peruvian press.

“We remind you that the medical service provided and the interaction with information sources (medical records) must maintain confidentiality,” pointed out the aforementioned circular. “El acceso a las historias clínicas del paciente está restringido al médico tratante”, states the communication. The local press has also noted that it would not be the first time information about a patient is offered from the hospital itself.
